Buddha’s Bones

Three crows perched, caw

as smoke rises from an ash fire,

feeding hungry ghosts while

singing an echo of impermanence.

Namu.

Three vultures circling, swoop

upon the corpse on a man,

greedily scavanging flesh from

the bones of a Buddha.

Namu.
